I liked the first list as an insight to church management and how it can best lead a church or school program. I found the second list lacking in direction. I wasn't sure of the overall theme it was trying to communicate. When reading the quips about teaching, it jumped out at me that it never mentioned to be aware of your audience. Some class members can take giant steps while other members need to take baby steps. The statement - Good teachers facilitate learning; Great teachers inspire learning - is so true. As we strive to be good teachers, the inspiratiion to learn will come not because of us but because of the spirit of God.

Hi Bro Mike,

In my experience, your track record on recommending books is pretty good. This one does sound like a "keeper".

Of the two lists, I like the second one the best. I'm glad it was by the author. It sounds like the words of someone who has not only taught, but also learned from the experience of teaching.

The first list applies to teaching as well as to churches as a whole. A little reality check and some practical advice is a good thing too.

Thanks for the preview. Just don't give away too much of the book in your enthusiasm :-)
